There are three main model types by which a mobile carriage is moved by a user.
Manual Systems - are the simplest. On the side of each row there is a handle, by which the user pushes each row in the direction they want. Mechanical Assist - these systems use a three-pronged crank that is directly attached to the wheels of the mobile carriage by means of gears and chains. The crank is geared down, such that a user can move a substantially larger row than a manual system. Powered Systems - these are the most technologically advanced. The user simply has to press a button, and an isle will be created in front of them. If this includes moving multiple rows of storage, the system is programmed to move all the rows at once. |
